MAGGIE MAE DESIGNS® is the proud sponsor of the “Hats Off to the Horses” fundraiser. This 4-month Derby hat auction series is a 100% donation to the retired racehorses of Old Friends Thoroughbred Retirement facility.
The “Hats Off to the Horses” fundraiser runs from January 1st right up to Derby Day. All of the proceeds from this running auction benefit the more than 255 retired racehorses Old Friends.
Such a wonderful way to celebrate the road to the Kentucky Derby!
Couture milliner, Sally Faith Steinmann of MAGGIE MAE DESIGNS® creates and donates one hat each month. Sally is passionate about Thoroughbred aftercare. Her purpose is to honor the beauty and spirit of four Old Friends retirees with one-of-a-kind Derby hats created just for them.
On the first day of each month we post the featured auction hat on the MAGGIE MAE DESIGNS® and Old Friends websites. Each hat is then available for bidding through an eBay auction for 10 days only. To bid, please go to the Old Friends or MAGGIE MAE DESIGNS® websites and click on the link provided there. The lucky hat winners will be announced shortly after the close of each auction (unless they prefer to remain anonymous) on our websites and social media platforms.

Freight charges for shipping the hats will be at the expense of the winning bidders. Winning bidders, please allow 2-3 weeks for delivery of your hat in order to ensure custom sizing.
